Things finally looking up for Ferriby?

After a turbulent period in the clubs history that has seen two new owners and consecutive relegations things finally seem to be on the up for North Ferriby United.

Since taking over a few short weeks ago the club’s third set of owners in less than a year, Carl and Terry Chadwick of Chadwick Builders, have implemented a series of small but positive changes at the club that should see some stability and positivity come back to the club.

Ferriby have managed to retain a number of the players from the squad that ended the last season so positively under Chris Bolder. James Piercy, Jack Mail, Jack Smith, Luke Lofts, Ben Clappison, Charlie Dunkerley, Jordan Harrison, Lewis Exall, James Nichols, Alex Bannister and Jamie Forrester have all committed to the club for next season which should give them a chance to compete in the Evo Stik League.

Off the pitch things are also looking up, the club have already secured a new shirt sponsor, shorts sponsors and have a number of their squad sponsored too as we head towards pre season. The clubs fanzine VFTAE appealed to put a consortium together to sponsor the clubs away shorts and they had the money secured within a couple of hours which shows that the fans are still keen to back the club.

Other ideas being floated around by the new owners are a re-brand of the clubhouse at the ground to try and get some of the much loved atmosphere back in the bar before and after games and during the week too. The majority of Ferriby’s fans come from Hull and with that in mind the club are hoping to secure a deal with Stagecoach to run shuttle busses from Hull City Centre to Church Road on match days.

These are all small but positive changes that could see some much needed unity and optimism come back to the club that has been missing in recent years especially during the tenure of Jamie Waltham. The club is hosting a meeting with the fans this Wednesday night and we will be there to find out the latest news coming out of the club with Carl Chadwick in attendance.
