Following Saturday’s first team win over Gedling Miners Welfare, Hall Road Rangers have now announced the shock departure of Manager David Ricardo from the club.
In a statement Club Chairman Darren Sunley said “Dave Ricardo is no longer manager with immediate effect.
“Dave has done an amazing job last season and done well so far this year. Unfortunately, the relationship and respect between myself and Dave in my view has broken down beyond repair.
“Agreements were made in pre-season which have clearly not been adhered to. A plan was set out to include playing budgets and payment of games in a meeting with management and committee, this was done to manage the expectations of the club following promotion into the premier division.
“I do wish him all the best and as a Club he will always be welcome. It’s been a very hard decision that many will find strange but my priority is the sustainability of the whole club.”
Bill Gill will be stepping in to take temporary control pending further discussions.
Gill will step up and take charge of the team for the first time away against Maltby Main next Saturday.
Rangers currently sit 14th in the NCEL Premier Division after just six league games. Kick off will be 3pm at the Muglet Lane ground.
