Hello and welcome to FanaticHull’s Transfer Deadline Day live blog! We’ll keep you updated throughout the day, until the 11pm deadline and possibly (or probably) beyond into the early hours. From a social media rumour, to official confirmation, we’ll have all Hull City’s dealings today covered.
So who is in the frame? Well the big name being linked with the Tigers today is Leicester City striker Ahmed Musa. The Nigerian has been linked with a loan move to join up with his former boss Leonid Slutsky all summer, but if reports are to be believed, it sounds as if this one could be close.
Some bookmakers have even suspended all betting on Musa joining the Tigers for the 2017/18 season, and he’s be some coup for Slutsky’s side; up there with the best in the Championship this season. Can they pull this one off? We expect it to go down to the final hours.
What other names are still in contention? Newcastle midfielder Jack Colback has been linked in recent days, although it looks as if a move to Wolves is now more likely for him. Sporting Lisbon’s Marvin Zeegelaar’s name came up once again last night, as well as rumours that Hull may be interested in bringing Andrea Ranocchia back to the club.
One thing is certain; it’s going to be another long and exciting transfer deadline day!

Hull City close to Fikayo Tomori
We called this one early this morning, but it looks as if Hull City are close to signing Chelsea youngster Fikayo Tomori on a season long loan. Slutsky is in London right now to finalise the move, with the player away with the England U21 side.

Is Leonid Slutksy in London to meet Loic Remy? Reports suggest he’s to leave Chelsea today, with Spanish side Las Palmas the favourites to sign him. But Sky report that Wolves, Hull, Swansea and Newcastle are keen.
The chances are, Slutsky’s visit to London has something to do with Chelsea. Is there a chance?

Wilson heading to Sunderland
Hull City have missed out on Bournemouth defender Marc Wilson. We reported earlier that he could have been at the Hull City training ground to undergo a medical, but our reports were wide of the mark.
West Brom are now understood to be interested, but Sunderland are leading the race with reports he’s heading to the North East for a medical.

Bournemouth the Premier League team interested in Ahmed Musa
Hull City have been dealt a major blow in their hunt to sign Ahmed Musa. It’s understood that Bournemouth are in for the Leicester City man, offering higher wages. Hopefully Hull’s pulling factor, the fact that Slutsky was very close with the player while at CSKA, works in our favour.

Leonid Slutsky heading to London
We told you a few hours ago, that Leonid Slutsky was at Brough train station. Well we now understand he was dropped off by Ehab Allam, who is now back in Cottingham, with the Russian on a London-bound train. What does that tell us?

Nobody will leave Hull City today, say reports
Hull Daily Mail claim to understand that Hull City don’t expect any players to leave the club today, and won’t be welcoming bids for any of their players in these final 7 hours.
This is good news, with Kamil Grosicki linked with moves to Burnley and Huddersfield today.

The latest on all of today’s rumours…
- Ahmed Musa – Hull are still confident in signing the Leicester man on a season long-loan. This would be City’s signing of the summer.
- Jack Colback – Colback won’t be coming to Hull City this summer. He’s keen to stay in the North-East and likely to join Boro or Sunderland today.
- Isaac Success – The Watford man’s move to Hull has fallen through according to Sky Sports. He was expected to be a back-up option for Musa, but he looks more likely to join Brighton or Sheffield Wednesday now.
- Marc Wilson – The defender is keen to move away from Bournemouth today, and Hull and Sunderland are interested.
- Marc Pugh – The Bournemouth winger’s name has also come up today, with Cardiff and Fulham also mentioned as keen.
- Axel Tuanzebe – The young Manchester United defender has also been linked with a move to Hull City today.
- Fikayo Tomori – The Chelsea defender could possibly be let go on loan today, and Hull have been linked several times this window.
- Andre Rannochia – This one seems unlikely, but its a social media rumour doing the rounds today.
And as for outgoings, Kamil Grosicki looks increasingly likely to leave the club, with Burnley and Hudderfield Town both interested.

Conflicting reports on Jack Colback, but he won’t be coming to Hull
There are some conflicting reports about Jack Colback this afternoon, but it doesn’t look like he’ll be heading to Hull City.
Some reports suggest Colback is only being offered to Sunderland and Middlesborough as he wants to stay in the North-East, whereas other reports say he won’t be allowed to leave at all and will will be playing for the Newcastle academy side this season.
14:00 – Thursday 31st August
Isaac Success’ move to Hull falls through, say reports
Sky Sports News are reporting that Isaac Success’ move to Hull City has fallen through today.
The striker was expected to join the club on loan, possibly as a back-up option to Ahmed Musa. But if reports are to be believed, he will not be joining the Tigers.
Brighton and Sheffield Wednesday have been linked with the player today, who left the Watford training ground earlier this afternoon.
Does this mean Hull have made a solid move for Musa instead?
13:40 – Thursday 31st Auugust
Marc Wilson on the move, Hull City interested?
Bournemouth defender Marc Wilson is reportedly on Hull City’s radar as he looks to make a last minute move away from the club this deadline day.
He’s yet to make an appearance for the Cherries since joining from Stoke last season, and spent time on loan at West Brom.
The Baggies are said to be interested once again, along with Sunderland and Hull City.
The Tigers have already been linked with Bournemouth’s Marc Pugh earlier today.
12:45 – Thursday 31st August
Hull want Axel Tuanzebe on loan from Manchester United
Hull City are interested in Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe on loan for the rest of the season, according to Sky Sports.
The Congolese centre-back, who had made four professional appearances for the Red Devils, is just 19 years old but made nine appearances for England U20s. His playing sytle has been compared to that of Eric Bailly.
12:10 – Thursday 31st August
Could both Musa and Success join?
We’d heard it was Musa or Success to Hull City, now reports club could be chasing both.
IF that’s the case, suspect Grosicki going.
— James Smailes (@James_Smailes) August 31, 2017
Could Hull get both Isaac Success AND Ahmed Musa today? That’s the chatter at the moment. But, like James Smailes has just tweeted, this could mean Kamil Grosicki is indeed on the move.
12:00 – Thursday 31st August
Hull and Brighton to battle for Isaac Success
Isaac Success is still on Hull’s radar, possibly as a back-up option for Ahmed Musa, but it looks as if they’ll have competition.
— Pete O’Rourke (@SportsPeteO) August 31, 2017
Brighton are also said to be interested in the attacker.
12:00 – Thursday 31st August
Huddersfield join the race for Grosicki
Reports elsewhere suggest Huddersfield Town have joined the race for Kamil Grosicki. Burnley are said to be leading the race however. There are conflicting reports regarding the Polish international today, with some saying he’ll be leaving, and other saying he’ll stay.
11:45 – Thursday 31st August
Marc Pugh a possible replacement for Grosicki?
Another name Hull City name have been linked with today is Bournemouth’s Marc Pugh. The 30-year old has been with the Cherries since 2010 and has gone on to make close to 300 appearances for the club.
Could the winger be a potential replacement for Kamil Grosicki? Fulham and Cardiff are also said to be keen.
11:00 – Thursday 31st August
Other reports say Grosicki could be on the move
Sports journalist Alan Nixon has just tweeted “Hull City may yet move out a winger and move another in.”
Kamil Grosicki on his way?

Chris Bodin, Sports Editor at the Burnley Express, has just tweeted that there is nothing in the speculation linking the club for a move for the Polish international.
08:50 – Thursday 31st August
Return of The Frog? Surely not?!
At the moment, this one looks like just a bit of social media snowballing, but there are rumours going round of Andrea Rannochia returning to Hull City today.
The Inter Milan man joined the Tigers under Marco Silva in January and impressed while at the club. He was vocal about his love for the Tigers, and would probably have stayed had the club not been relegated.
Surely there is nothing in this one, right?
08:40 – Thursday 31st August
Not-a lot-a hope for Jota
It looks as if Hull City will miss out on targetted attacker Jota from Brentford.
Reports suggest that the 26-year old is set to join Birmingham City after a flurry of interest from clubs including the Tigers, Middlesborough, Fulham and West Ham.
An impressive record of 52 goals in just under 200 has seen several clubs come knocking, but it looks as of Harry Redknapp’s side will now be successful in landing the player, in a deal worth around £6 million.
08:30 – Thursday 31st August
Do Hull still want Chelsea youngsters to bolster defence?
With all of Hull’s links to Chelsea this summer, Hull have only ended up signing Ola Aina and Michael Hector on season long loans from the Blues. But could that change today?
It’s understood that Leonid Slutsky wants one more defender before the window slams shut at 11pm, and that man could be Fikayo Tomori. The duel English-Candian player, who spent time on loan at Brighton last season, was part of the En gland side that won the U20s World Cup this year, and was named in the team of the tournament in last year’s U19s European Championships.
We’ll keep an eye on this one…
08:20 – Thursday 31st August
Tigers still in the hunt for Jack Colback?
Hull City may be back in on a move for Newcastle midfielder Jack Colback, according to The Sun.
A loan move for the Magpies man looked dead in the water yesterday, with Colback set to join promotion-chasing Wolves for the season. But that deal looks to have collapses, and the Tigers are back in the mix.
Sunderland are also reportedly keen to bring in their former man. But do Hull really need another central-midfielder?
08:10 – Thursday 31st August
Can Hull keep hold of Kamil Grosicki today?
Another major question is whether Hull City can keep hold of Kamil Grosicki today? The player has been linked with a move away all summer, and just yesterday, talk of a move to Burnley resurfaced.
His very active, and sometimes revealing social media presence, added fuel to the fire last night. On international duty with Poland, he tweeted that today would be a “very tough day”.
Grosicki wouldn’t be a major loss to the Hull squad; for many he hasn’t been the star we all expected. But it’s doubtful City would be able to replace him in the hours remaining.
08:05 – Thursday 31st August
Ahmed Musa the main target of the day for Leonid Slutksy
The big name in the frame for Hull City is Leicester City striker Ahmed Musa. He’s currently in Nigeria set to feature in a World Cup Qualifier against Cameroon tomorrow, but Slutksy is keen to reunite with the striker he signed while at CSKA Moscow.
The link has been there for several weeks now, but only on Tuesday did genuine interest seem to come about. The hold-up is Leicester and Hull can’t decide how his £60,000 a week wages will be split, and who will pay what.
At Championship level, Musa would be some coup, and would it not be for his links to his former manager, Hull otherwise really wouldn’t have a chance. He’s the player Hull fans are dreaming of today’s; he’ll be massive if they get this one over the line.
