Under the watchful eye of Manager Rachel Gay, head coach Danny Johnson and coaching staff, Hull City Ladies started pre-season training ahead of the 2017/18 FA Womens Premier League Northern Division 1 campaign.
Looking to build on a brilliant third placed league finish and ERCFA Senior Womens Cup win, the hard work the Ladies will put in during the hot summer months will pay dividends during the long grind of the winter period and beyond, and by the look of the work that Gay and Johnson have already tasked the players with it bodes well for another good campaign.
As always though, everything that is done at City Ladies it is done with beaming smiles and togetherness, such is the bond and trust that is clearly evident between management, players, staff and supporters alike. Most of last years squad (main picture) have committed to another (hopefully) successful year. Along with a number of new additions, promotion is a realistic aim for the Tigresses.
Three players who won’t be donning the Amber & Black next season are Elisha Robinson and Evie Hepworth who are moving stateside and club stalwart Rachael Cooke who is embarking on a new career path. We wish them luck in the future and hopefully see them soon.
There are a number of new talented players coming in to add competition for places an enhance the squad.
Recently, Rachael Ackroyd, Hope Knight, Nat Bell, Liberty Bott, Jasmine Lacey and Hannah Smith have all signed for the club and will be looking to impress Gay and Johnson in the coming weeks before the season gets underway.
Whilst the present is all important to Hull City Ladies, the future of the club is also paramount and with this in mind, Hull City Ladies Player Development Centre (PDC) will again be running their hugely successful summer camps for girls aged between 5-16 years old. Have a look at the details below and get your youngsters down to a fantastic, fun and healthy event with some great people. Its were stars of the future are born!!
