Forums, pubs and now even the local media are talking up a swap deal featuring two young stars from Hull FC and Hull KR.
Rumours of a permanent move at Rovers for Jordan Abdull have lingered across the City all season. The on-loan FC pivot has impressed under Tim Sheens. He’s scored tries for fun, ran well and looks a lot leaner than in his FC days.
There’s been no secret of Rovers’ apparent desire to keep him, though it’s emerging now that a swap deal could make this happen, with William Oakes moving the other way.
Oakes has performed exceptionally well for the City of Hull Academy this season, but has found first team oppurtunities hard to come by. This may have some legs to it.
The winger is a prolific try-scorer, he’s fast, agile and strong for his tender age of 18. Though whether or not he’s a direct replacement for Mahe Fonua is left to be questioned.
