Marco Silva’s unbeaten home record at the helm of Hull City continues, after a 2-0 win at home to Watford.
City started the game 2 points ahead of close rivals Swansea, with the Swans facing Stoke City, the team to beat City only a week ago. The game started horribly for City with Oumar Niasse being sent off after only 25 minutes after a strong challenge on Watford’s M’Baye Niang. The pressure was really on City in the second half, with City drawing 0-0 at half time and Swansea winning 1-0 at half time. However, the second half could not have gone any better for the tigers,
Lazar Markovic gave the Tigers the lead on the hour mark. After his header bounced down off the bar, he was there to smash the ball home. 10 minutes later, Sam Clucas doubled City’s lead with an absolute screamer – make sure you watch it on Match of the Day tonight! 2-0 is how the game ended.
However, the cherry was taken off the top of the cake with news filtering through that Swansea had also won, beating Stoke 2-0. So, honours even in the relegation race it is. City face a tough trip to Southampton next week, while Swansea take what could arguably be an even tougher trip to Old Trafford to face Europa League Semi-Finalists Manchester United.
Still, either of the two can go down. Its certainly going to be an interesting end to the season!
