Taking another step towards the NCEL Premier Division is the incentive for Hall Road Rangers as they make the early trip to Rossington Main tomorrow (11am).
Over the Easter weekend, the NCEL are hosting their ground-hop incentive meaning a win for Rangers could see them go top of the table, prior to Emley’s 3pm kick off at home to Glasshoughton Welfare.
Rangers travel to a Rossington side though buoyed by a new management team and are unbeaten in their previous five matches, but following last weekend’s 8-0 win, Hall Road are extremely confident of finishing the job and earning promotion ahead of their final two matches.
Also depending on the outcome of Pontefract Collieries trip to Knaresborough Town tonight (5pm), three points at the Welfare Ground tomorrow, could rubber stamp Rangers return to the NCEL Premier Division for the first time in four years.
Rangers boss Dave Ricardo welcomes back a trio of players for the trip.
Danny Norton, Sam Belcher and Josh Batty are all in contention once more after missing last weekend’s home rout of Nostell Miners Welfare.
Jamie Coulson is unavailable, but leading scorer Chris Spinks who netted his 25th goal of the season last weekend is a more then worthy choice to replace the target man after Spinks appearance from the bench in Rangers win last Saturday.
Manager Dave Ricardo admits a tinge of excitement and anticipation for the game:
“Saturday’s game cannot come soon enough for me or the lads.
They trained really well on Tuesday night and look as fit as they did for the first game of the season.
However as ever it will come down to attitude and executing our quality on the day.
Other than Jamie Coulson we are at full strength as we welcome back Josh Batty, Danny Norton and Sam Belcher.
Both Bill Gill and myself will have some big calls to make in terms of team selction however whoever takes the field will be raring to go out and try to win the league.”
